Just a reminder that the Ottawa Ice Rink is a tobacco product free area. That means no smoking, chewing, etc inside the building, around the rink, on the team benches, etc. If you need to smoke, chew, or use tobacco, please do it outside of the fenced in area or out front of the main building.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of joining the league's twitter account. All delays and game day information is kept up to date there, especially weather outlooks.

Fast Paced Foot and Roller Hockey without all the Physical Play of Ice Hockey
The Toledo Street Hockey League was formed in 2008. It is completely separate from the City of Toledo. The "TSHL" leases the rink from the city. The City of Toledo in no way, shape, or form, has anything to do with the operation, rules, decisions, or schedule of the TSHL.

It is a "no-checking" organized roller and foot hockey league. The TSHL has divisions for players of all ages and talent levels. The heavy contact, stick work, and potentially dangerous physical play of ice hockey is not permitted in the TSHL. This is to allow players of all sizes to compete against each other without the worry of "goons" turning the game into a street brawl. Talented players get to show off their skills while fans get to enjoy some really exciting games. The TSHL always is working to make itself better and to keep the player's cost as low as possible to give everyone the opportunity to play. Currently, each player pays just $5 a game.

 A Focus on Sportsmanship
As a fan of many different levels of hockey, it is a shame to see such poor sportsmanship being permitted and in some cases encouraged by players, fans, and parents. There is nothing wrong with playing hard, being competitive and wanting to win . But using cheap shots, talking trash, screaming at officials, and treating others with disrespect, etc. has no place in sports, especially with younger players. In the TSHL, the referees, staff and league does not tolerate this type of behavior. All TSHL players are required to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsman-like manner before, during, and after games. Any player or conduct  determined to be less than respectful and sportsman-like will be dealt with up to and including suspension from the league.
